Boring

Swimming is one of the sports that are just boring. Scarcely anyone hears or cares about the fast swimmers. Hardly anyone comes to watch swimming and it is never on TV the way other sports are. Football, basketball, golf, baseball, etc. they are the glory sports. Some times swimmers such as myself ask our selves why we swim. There aren’t professional swimmers that make a lot of money, there’s no “off” season. It’s just staring at a black line on the bottom of a freezing cold pool, and waking up at 5:00am to go to some hard-core swim practice. But the real reason why I swim, and so many others do is for “the race”. The one chance a swimmer gets to prove how hard he or she worked. It’s a single moment in time where the mind takes over the body. The feeling of knowing you tried your best after this race is all a swimmer needs to keep on playing the boring sport.

Q: How is your CPB journal coming along now?

A: I feel as though it is coming along somewhat nicely. I have quite a few entrees that focus on many topics that I find interesting. Some examples are Videogames, originality, technology, and even homework.

Q: Which entry is your favorite?

A: That’s a hard question, but I think it would have to be my technology entry. It just amazes me how computers and TV’s work. In this entry I talk about how hard it must have been to come up with the ideas of having millions of tinny pixels working together to create a picture, or creating an internet.

Q: That’s great, but now on to the next question. Is it hard to come up with things to write about?

A: Hmmm, maybe a little at first, but then you look around wherever you are, and find something that slightly interests you, and write about how it makes you feel. I think the hard part is actually sitting down and looking around you everyday. I have hard time writing on a regular base.

Q: Yes, I see, now then, do you write quotes into your CPB?

A: Yes some times, I look through my planner from time to time and pick out a quote that I like, or that I feel relates to something I wrote about earlier.

Q: Cool, but do you have pictures in your CPB?

A: Actually, I don’t. I was meaning to put some in, but I didn’t get the chance to print a few out. I must admit it would make my CPB a lot better.

Q: Do you have any poems in your CPB that you made, or quoted?

A: There is one that happens to be my first entry. I kind of don’t like it too much because I had written it on a night when I was very made and grumpy. I would like to add some poems to my CPB soon. Ones those other famous poets have written that I like the most.

Q: That would be nice, but now do you like writing in you CPB? Or do you do it just to do it?

A: Well at first I did it just to do it, but as I wrote a few more entrees, I started to notice that it wasn’t that bad, and it allowed me to reflect on things that interest me. Now I kind of like writing in it although it is still hard for me to force myself to sit down and do it.

Q: That’s interesting, but do you feel that writing in your CPB helps you to better understand things?

A: Actually yes, in reflecting on these topics, I can express how I feel in a positive way. I can see what I specifically find interesting in a large topic, and then find out more about it.

Q: How do you feel about posting your CPB on a blog?

A: I think that that would be great, except I would have a hard time making time to post all this stuff on the web. In the CPB book, you can write in it anywhere, in the car, walking to class, on the pool deck after practice. When posting it on a blog, you need a computer with you, and also internet. I think that it would make it a lot nicer though, all typed out and stuff.

Q: Great, I have one last question for ya; will you ever run out of topics to write about this year?

A: I definitely don’t think so, there are so many things that interest me, and I think I could think of a long list of topics.
